Diamond Light Source is the UK’s national synchrotron science facility. By accelerating electrons to near light-speed, Diamond generates brilliant beams of light from infra-red to X-rays which are used for academic and industry research and development across a range of scientific disciplines including structural biology, physics, chemistry, materials science, engineering, earth and environmental sciences.
About the Role
We now have an opportunity for a Maintenance Administrator to work primarily as part of the Maintenance team within the Installations & Facilities Management (IFM). The role is responsible for providing maintenance administration support, as well as utilising procedures and systems to provide reports / information to resolve problems and queries.
The key duties of the position include:
- Provide general administrative support to the IFM maintenance team.
- Control and operate helpdesk requests via SFM and log on to the Evolution system.
- Co-ordinate and schedule remedial works with advice from Senior technicians and advise others on IFM routes for non-maintenance work (i.e. works requests / JIRA tickets).
- Manage and raise sub-contractor orders, identify issues and ensure all appropriate paperwork is signed off and reports received.
- Liaise with other Diamond technical staff, external contractors, and service engineers.
About You
You will have a competent understanding and use of Microsoft packages, along with relevant work experience within a customer facing or administration role. Be able to work on own initiative, with good organisational and communication skills.
Experience of collating information and knowledge of maintenance software systems is desirable.
